“Wendy came to the Y as a program participant after a friend told her about the YMCA. Now she says, “It’s like a family to me.” Accessing the Y leadership programs has given her more confidence; experience in leadership, public speaking and working with others. Through the Y, she discovered a love of working with children, and now returns to the Port au Prince YMCA each week to mentor the 9-12 year olds in the after school program.
The Haiti YMCA meets each person where they are: providing opportunities and strengthening their education and life skills in order to fulfill their personal and economic potential. A membership to the Haiti YMCA costs $8/year for full access. Please help provide this opportunity to strengthen the Haitian community through strengthening their citizens.”
