Mission statement

Mission

The YMCA d’Haïti is an integral part of a global community organization that works to strengthen and discipline the mind, soul and body. The YMCA d’Haiti supports the development of youth and adults through programs and activities designed to strengthen education, personal development, and foster social responsibility in order to train leaders who can be agents of change for the emergence of stronger communities.

This community-based organization is committed to empowering disadvantaged youth by providing them with quality programs in all our centers.  We currently have 10 community centers located in: Kenscoff, Laboule, Port-au-Prince, Camp-Perrin, Laurent, Caracol, Marchand-Dessalines, Fontamara, Cité Soleil, and Croix-des-Bouquets.

The Y serves more than 8,500 young individuals annually.  The YMCA d’Haiti’s programs are centered on five core programs: Afterschool Program, Scholarship (Potekole), Sports and STEM Camps, Literacy, and Leadership (Youth Empowerment).  These programs are implemented by staff and volunteers who work with our members and neighbors to ensure that we provide a nurturing environment which meets their needs and afford these disadvantaged young individuals with the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Our Values

Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Caring.

Vision

By 2020, YMCA d’ Haiti will advance its mission impact and sustainability to serve 15,000 youth, teens and adults in 15 communities, through educational and life skills programs which help to build our community’s leadership.
